I can't believe it's 2010 ... time flies!
Not sure how I would describe 2009. It had it's ups and downs but I'm still breathin' so I guess something went right! Normally, I could give two shits about resolutions but there are several things that I know I'd like to work on this year. Call 'em what you want ... resolutions? goals? things-I'd-like-to-do-but-won't? ... whatever.
#1: lose weight/get healthy. Of course, this is everyone's resolution every year but I feel like it's time for me to get on with it. I'm the heaviest I've ever been and definitely the most out of shape I've been. Don't get me wrong, I'm still fine as hell, just need to make sure that I keep my fine on LOL.
#2: stay in better contact with my bffs. It's totally ridic that I live within 10 miles of almost every single one of my besties (cept Lara Jones) and rarely see them or even call or email. I am so bad! I just reeeeally suck at communication. I guess I figure that if I see their facebook statuses every day, that's pretty much like catching up, right? The problem is that I rarely update MY status so who's catching up with ME?? Things that make you go hmmmmmmm.
#3: blog more. So much happens that I want to remember but this short term memory thing is really getting in my way. I very much wish that I had written about the NKOTB concert in July, while it was fresh on my mind. As goofy as it sounds (and yes I'm constantly made fun of by every male that I know), that was one of the best times ever (that came about at what I felt like was one of the worst times of my life) so it was a much needed reprieve from the bad crap that was going on.
*shout out to Jamie for braving that incredible Memphis heat! it was only the GREATEST NIGHT OF OUR LIVES!!! lol*
Anyhoo, I guess the point of this post is to maybe get myself to write more. Every day I make so many memories that I'd like to actually remember some day!
Here's to the first blog of the rest of my life! :)

the cruise...2 months later...hahaha
Yeah, so i've been busy....or lazy....whatever you wanna call it! The cruise was freaking fantastic! The embarkation process wasnt too terrible. We were prepared for the wait but it actually went smoother and faster than we anticipated. We got on the boat and first things first...hit the bar! We each got one of those fruity "drinks of the day", settled into our rooms, went to dinner, had some drinks, and went to bed. The water was a lil rough so everyone had trouble walking straight. it was kind of fun until dinner time - thats when it started getting to me a bit. I prevailed though and am proud to say I made it through the whole cruise without vomiting once! LOL Unfortunately, our room was on the 7th floor...the only floor with no internet access! POOP! And did you really think I would take time out from partying to go to the internet cafe? Well, hell no! I was busy! :)
We missed Jamaica (thank you Gustav) and instead, our first port was Progreso, Mexico. The excursion we chose was to visit some of the Mayan ruins. this was really cool! We had a guide telling us about the history of the structures and we were even able to climb up on them and whatnot. Then, after that we were transported to the beach for a party. Drinks were included so we drank as much dos xx and cheap tequila as we could and just hung out. Nothing much really goin on there and the ocean was kinda yucky looking. From the storms I'm sure.
The next port was Cozumel, Mexico. This was my favorite because of the super fun boat ride we took to Passion Island. it was a big yellow speedboat that we real fast and did 360 turns in the middle of the ocean! It was so cool! Jason and I were lucky - on the way to the island we sat in the very back. We thought that was soooo cool until the ride back when we got in the very front. it was like a roller coaster! TOO COOL! Passion Island itself was beautiful. White sand, clearer water than Progreso, buffet and open bar. We spent the day just relaxing and eating and drinking. How much more perfect can you get?!?
The third and last port was Grand Cayman. We decided not to book an excursion there and just did a little exploring on our own. We had made friends with another couple from Abilene, TX so they palled around with us there. We went to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville and had a margarita - a very expensive margarita, served by a real a-hole of a bartender. He overcharged us AND was a dick. We just let it go and left with a sour taste for JBM's! This was by far the most eye-pleasing port out of the three. Everything looked clean and new. But it was also the most expensive. not much shopping going on there for me! We just walked around and eventually took a cab to 7 Mile Beach. The water was amazing. It was really the only time i swam in the ocean because i just couldnt resist! It was just beautiful. While i was in the water with our new friends, Jason spent his time in the shade drinking rum and cokes :)
While we werent at port, there was plenty other stuff to keep us busy. The casino was a favorite of mine. I gave them alot of money over the course of 7 days. HAHA. I had a blast though. Our favorite spot was called the Degas Lounge. Every night they had karaoke. That's actually where we met our new friends so we ended up meeting them in there just about every night. And YES, I karaoke'd!! For the first time! It was so humiliating, yet strangely empowering. Afterwards, I really felt like I'd accomplished something LOL. And imagine my surprise when the first thing Jason says is "Wow, you actually didnt suck. I'm shocked!". HAHAHA. That's right...I didnt suck! yay for me!! Another reason we liked the Degas Lounge was because since we were like regulars and sat in the same spot every night, the servers came to know us. It was so cute b/c there were 2 girls of Asian descent that loved Jason. Every time we came in we heard "Ja-sahn, Ja-sahn!!" It was great. He didnt even have to order drinks b/c they knew what he wanted an brought it right out to him. I'll never forget those girls and their cute accents.
Mostly, we partied all night and slept all day. We made the mistake of not getting a room with a balcony. No windows make for a very dark room in the middle of the day, so it was easy to sleep late. There was lots of food, of course, but it was typical "served in bulk" food. Kinda cafeteria-ish. Not totally horrible, but definitely not a highlight for us. I didnt really get out in the sun a whole lot, not counting at the ports, but i got a bit of a tan. All in all, we had a blast. Cant wait for our next adventure...as soon as I pay this one off!! :)
The debarkation procedure was a pain. Took us forever to get through customs. The weird part was our bags were never checked - AT ALL. We could've brought home anything we wanted! Oh well, we learned alot on our first cruise and will definitely be better prepared for the next one!! However, I think our next vaca will be to somewhere cold. I'm thinking maybe Colorado...we'll see!!

Sailing the Western Caribbean
In 6 days I'll be going on my first trip out of the first country, my first cruise, and my first REAL vacation with my love, Jason. Along with my dad and step mom, we're taking a Carnival cruise that leaves from Galveston, TX on 8/31 and has stops in Montego Bay Jamaica, Grand Cayman Islands, and Cozumel Mexico. Can I just tell you how stoked I am?!?! I'm ready to see that crystal clear water and I just know that 7 days in the sun is what we need!
I have a bad habit of not taking pictures during important times, such as vacations, so my goal is to take more than enough. I'll have my laptop so ideally I'd like to blog every day (or every other day) about our adventures but we'll see if that really happens.
The part I'm most excited about? CASINO! I'm a gambling freak and can't wait to have a casino within my reach for a whole week! That could turn out really bad, but let's keep a positive attitude OK? I'll try not to lose ALL of Jason's money. :)

MEMORIES...
Here are the directions:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty cool (and funny) to see the responses.
If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. :)

So, its my birthday. Now what?
For the first time ever, i wasnt excited about this one. Not because i've turned another year older, because getting older doesnt really bother me. i've just been so dang busy this month and havent really had time to even think about it. it's somewhat depressing to me that I'm not excited. Its just not right! I've always LOVED my birthdays and wanted them to be special days. Why am i not with it this year? i hate it!

My first blog!

Ok, so its not my first blog EVER, but im new to this site anyway! :)
what to write about?? OH, I KNOW!!...5 words: NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK!!
I just watched the video of their first performance together since...well, i cant even remember when. Can i just say that i love them!?! Yes, still! They did a medley of some of their popular songs, like "Step by Step", "Hangin' Tough", and "You Got It (the right stuff)", and while that performance isnt getting great reviews, I LOVED IT! Something about hearing those songs just puts me in a great mood! And WHEW was Donnie looking FINE! I was always so in love with him.
Back in the day, during their first run, I had every piece of NKOTB merchandise i could find. From posters to dolls to trading cards! They were my first loves. I remember proudly wearing my NKOTB t-shirts with spandex shorts, and a side pony tail. Everything had to be NKOTB-related. In 4th grade my school had an essay contest, and what was mine about? Thats right, the New Kids. I didnt win, but i was so proud of that essay. I felt like i really KNEW them! Crazy huh?
I didnt make it to the concert when they came to LR back then, but you can bet that if they come anywhere near here during their reunion tour, I am SO there!! Call me crazy if you want, but I'm a New Kids fan forever!! Ok, i must go now...gotta download some NKOTB songs for my IPod! :)
PS..yes, i realize that i'm a dork, so you dont need to point it out! :)
